The HV PFC is an independent nonprofit organization made up of every family and faculty member at Hidden Valley Elementary. Parents, guardians, and teachers who care about this school, working together to make it better.
We were founded in 1999 and have operated continuously since, funding programs, staffing needs, and enrichment opportunities that fall outside what the district budget can cover. Every dollar donated to the PFC stays at Hidden Valley. It goes directly to our students, to our teachers, to our campus.
Membership isn’t something you apply for. If you have a child at Hidden Valley, you’re already a member with a voice in how we operate and where the money goes.

What’s the difference between a PFC and a PTA?
PTAs are chapters of a national organization. Membership involves dues, and a portion of donated funds support the national body.
The HV PFC is fully independent. We’re a local nonprofit with no affiliation fees, and everything we raise stays right here at Hidden Valley.
Attend a meeting
The HV PFC is entirely volunteer run — which means it exists because parents and guardians choose to show up. Attending a meeting is the first step in making a difference.
Volunteers plan our events, coordinate our fundraisers, and sit on the board that decides how every dollar is spent. But something less expected tends to happen too: people find their people. The parent who signs up to help with Hawktoberfest ends up building friendships that outlast elementary school. Showing up for the school has a way of becoming showing up for each other.
There’s no minimum commitment. Whether you can give one evening a year or a few hours a week, there’s a place for you here.

Meet the 2026/2027 board
Every board position is elected annually by the HVE community. Board members serve on a volunteer basis and attend all monthly meetings, held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM. All HVE families are welcome to attend.

President
I currently have a 3rd grader and a 5th grader at Hidden Valley, but all 5 of my kids have attended HVE for at least one year. HVES was also my elementary school graduating in the 5th grade class of 1994! This is my 4th year on the PFC board having served for one year as Treasurer and now my 3rd year as President. I enjoy helping out where I can and being a part of this great community!

Hi, I’m Marjolein Daas. I have a 2nd grader, a kindergartener, and an incoming TK student at Hidden Valley for the 2027–2028 school year. This is my second year on the PFC and my first year serving as Vice President. I’m looking forward to helping lead the annual auction, supporting our amazing teachers and staff, and creating opportunities for families to connect. When I’m not volunteering, I work in event management, am originally from the Netherlands, and enjoy traveling and making memories with my husband and three kids.

My oldest daughter is in Kindergarten, and I joined the board this year as Treasurer with a mission to modernize how we handle event ticketing and teacher reimbursements. I work in product management, which means I’ve never met a process I didn’t want to optimize. When I’m not scheming up improvements, you’ll find me crafting with my kids, knitting, or planning the family’s next fun activity.

I have two boys attending Hidden Valley in 4th(Nico) and 2nd(Tony) grades. This is my third year serving on the PFC board. I joined the board to meet other parents at HVE and to stay informed on happenings at the school. Other than my position on the board, I work as a general property manager for commercial properties in the bay area and in my spare time you will find me playing board games with my family or coaching little league baseball.

I am thrilled to be stepping into a new role on the PFC Board this year as your Non-Traditional Fundraising Chair. This marks my third year serving on the board, having spent the last two years keeping our books balanced as the Treasurer. Outside of my school volunteer life, I work as a corporate financial consultant, but my absolute favorite “job” is being a mom to my three kids.

I joined because I love collaborating with parents, guardians, and teachers to create fun and memorable experiences for our students and staff. Outside of the board, I recently established an Adult Sports Ministry at my local parish and stay active partnering with charitable organizations that serve those in need.

I joined the PFC board this year because I believe every Hidden Valley family deserves a school experience that’s welcoming, engaging, and fun. When I’m not volunteering, you’ll find me with a house full of people, something delicious on the stove, the Niners on TV, or planning our family’s next adventure!
